The SOLT Family Mission Experience is designed to nurture spiritual growth and new evangelization. Families will participate in daily Mass, prayer, available confession, and spiritual reflections, fostering deeper connections with the faith. The whole family has opportunities to encounter Christ in the sacraments, through service, and in interactions with the community, strengthening relationships with Our Lord and each other. Families are encourages to live out their faith through service, becoming living witnesses to the Gospel.

Spiritual

Families will engage in faith formation & evangelization activities, deepening their understanding and practice of the Faith through hands-on experiences. These unique tasks foster development, where  enhance essential life skills like teamwork, leadership, empathy, and problem-solving. Additionally, families gain a broader perspective on the Church's universal mission, cultivating a sense of global awareness and social responsibility.

Educational

Our mission trips offer meaningful community service experiences that benefit both participants and the communities they serve. Families engage in impactful projects that address real needs, collaborating with local parishes and organizations to ensure sustainability. These shared service activities strengthen familial bonds and create a shared sense of purpose, enhancing community spirit and cooperation that comes home with the families long after their trip.

The Church Will Never Be the Same

We offer three unique mission locations, each with its own distinct opportunities and challenges. Select the one that best fits your group's experience and goals:

  • Belize: Ideal for first-time mission groups.

  • North Dakota: Perfect for those new to mission trips. 

  • Colón: Recommended for more advanced mission groups or those comfortable speaking Spanish.

We offer a range of pre-scheduled dates for mission trips, or we can help you create a custom schedule that fits your group's needs.

Decide on the spiritual focus of your mission trip to tailor the experience to your group's spiritual and service goals. We will work with your theme and group size and ages to plan an itinerary that works for you.

  • Eucharistic-Themed Missions: Centered around the Eucharist, fostering a deeper connection with the Blessed Sacrament. Activities include Adoration, Mass, and Eucharistic processions.

  • Corporal Works of Mercy: Focus on one or more of the Corporal Works of Mercy (e.g., feeding the hungry, visiting the sick). Service projects tailored to these themes, providing hands-on opportunities for all ages living out your faith.

03 Choose a Spiritual Focus

Enhance the mission experience with our lay formation programs:

  • Formation Calls: Pre-mission preparation and post-mission reflection.

  • Family Activities: Strengthen family bonds through shared service and faith-based activities to prepare your group for the mission.

04 Enhance Your Mission Experience with Family Formation

Collaborate with your mission coordinator to finalize the logistics and details of your mission trip.

  • Planning Meetings: We schedule regular touchpoints with the families prior to their mission trip to ensure all aspects of the trip are organized and everyone is prepared.

  • Support Materials: Receive comprehensive guides, packing lists, agendas, and other essential resources.

  • Point of Contact: Your mission coordinator will be available to assist with any questions or concerns.

05 Finalize Your Mission Trip Details

Embark on your short-term mission trip, equipped with the support and resources from SOLT FME. Embrace the opportunity to serve, grow in faith, and build lasting memories.

  • Before the Trip: Participate in preparatory meetings and spiritual readiness sessions. Ensure all team members are informed and prepared.
